A Belgian community for Afghans providing guidance and referrals.
Who is Afghan Limburg for?
For Afghans in Limburg and Belgium: families, youth, elderly people, women, students and newcomers.
Is Afghan Limburg free?
Basic guidance is community-focused. Any official service costs are not from Afghan Limburg.
Is Afghan Limburg an official government service?
No. We are not a government office and do not make official decisions.
Which languages do you support?
Dutch, English, Dari/Farsi and Pashto where possible.
Work
Can you help me find work?
Yes, with CVs, understanding vacancies, applications and referral to VDAB.
Can you make my CV?
We can help prepare a clear CV.
What is VDAB?
VDAB is the Flemish service for work, training and guidance.
Documents
Can you fill in forms?
We help understand and prepare basic forms, but official responsibility stays with the competent service.
May I send documents by WhatsApp?
Do not send sensitive documents by ordinary WhatsApp or email without safe instructions.
Where should I go for residence documents?
Often the municipality or Immigration Office. We can refer you.
Government
I do not understand a letter. Can you help?
Yes, we can read the letter together and prepare the next step.
Can you change a government decision?
No. We can help you understand and refer you.
When do I need a lawyer?
For legal decisions, asylum, residence or procedures, contact legal aid or a lawyer.
Social support
What is OCMW/CPAS?
A local service for social support. Decisions are made by OCMW/CPAS.
Can you help with housing?
We can listen and refer to the right services.
Can you help with school questions?
We can prepare questions and refer to schools or competent services.
